I Heart You Almond Cookies

These I Heart You Almond Cookies are super easy to make and they taste so good with some cold milk!

Hello dear friends from Munchkintime!

Did you know that Valentines Day is just few days away!?!

As a mama of 2 girls, I like to do holiday activities with my girls, and for this year for Valentines Day we decided to bake some heart shape cookies.

I Heart You Almond Cookies made of simple ingredients like sour cream, flour, sugar, almonds and etc.

100% no butter!

You wouldn’t feel bad eating them!

I Heart You Almond Cookies

Prep Time: 10 minutes

Cook Time: 15 minutes

Total Time: 25 minutes

I Heart You Cookies are so soft and delicious! 100% NO BUTTER! Instead of butter these cookies were made of sour cream and other ingredients like flour, sugar and almond flakes.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups self-raising flour (or 2 cups of flour + 2 teaspoon baking powder)
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 egg separated
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 tablespoon milk
  • 1/2 cup sliced almonds
  • pinch of salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400F.
  2. Sift flour into stand mixing bowl, then add sugar and salt. Mix.
  3. Using different mixing bowl combine egg yolk, sour cream, vanilla and milk.
  4. Add sour cream mixture to the dry ingredients, then turn your mixer on and mix until soft dough forms. ( If you don't have a stand mixer, don't worry you can use your hands.)
  5. Place your dough on floured surface then roll out the dough until 1/3 in thick.
  6. Stamp out hearts with heart shape cookie cutter.
  7. Transfer heart cookies to the baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  8. Grab reserved egg white and brush it over each cookie.
  9. Sprinkle sliced almonds.
  10. Bake for 10 minutes or until golden color. Let them cool. Store I Heart You Cookies in airtight container. Enjoy!
